When preparing for your photoshoot, having a few key items on hand can make all the difference.

Over the years, I’ve learned that being prepared helps sessions run more smoothly and keeps you feeling confident from start to finish. These five essentials are my go-to's — I never leave home without them,

and I always recommend clients bring them along too.

Bug spray

Especially during the summer months, there can be so many mosquitoes. Bug spray helps prevent bites and those distracting red marks that can show up in photos. I recommend a matte or dry spray formula so your skin looks the same while still staying protected.

Hair Brush

Between outfit changes and windy conditions, hair can easily fall out of place. Having a hair brush on hand makes quick touch-ups easy and helps keep your hair looking great throughout your entire session.

Hair Spray

This goes hand-in-hand with a hair brush. Hair spray helps hold your style in place, especially on windy or humid days. It can truly be a lifesaver for flyaways and maintaining volume.

Snacks + Water

It’s easy to forget to eat or hydrate when getting ready for photos. Packing a snack and water ensures you feel your best during the session — especially during hot summer days when staying hydrated is extra important.

Extra Shoes

Many photo locations aren’t right next to the parking lot. Bringing a pair of sandals or comfortable shoes makes it easier to walk through grass or gravel without wearing heels the whole time. You’ll be much more comfortable, and your shoes will stay clean and ready.
